South Texas Exhibit

Visitors can view the different animals in the El Campo area in their seasons here at the museum. Find the Ruby-throated Hummingbird fluttering through the flowers, or see what the O'possum is trying to reach for in the tree.

The Texas exhibit is close to home.  Taking photographs of the Sandy Creek area, artists created a backdrop for the animals typical of our area.

If you're not careful, you'll miss the small quall that seem to blend into their natural surroundings in this exhibit.  Dirt, driftwood, barbed wire, an old oak tree, and Texas wildflowers cover the ground, while a mural depicts the natural setting.  Artists captured Texas' natural colors through painted trees, grass, water, and sky.

An interactive computer providing more information about the animals in this exhibit awaits the curious visitor. View the live-action video of the White-tail deer, or guess what sound Bob-white Quails make. Information regarding this and more is at the El Campo Museum.
