About Joe Tom Davis

A reader's review from May 5, 1999 posted on Amazon.com said "Joe Tom Davis is probably the most respected Texas Historian alive today. The stories he tells are bigger than life characters who in one way or another have affected Texas. His writing style is clear and concise without errors. His books are a joy to read over and over."

A fifth generation Texan, Joe Tom Davis taught American and Texas history at WCJC before retiring in 2000. The Texas Historical Commission honored Davis for his work in oral history video interviews and the Community College Leadership Program at the University of Texas awarded him its Excellence Award in teaching.
